Welcoming Dayton

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team is back in action on Thursday as they host Dayton in their final non-conference match of the spring season.

The Bruins are 6-5 after defeating Stonehill College 7-0 last Thursday.  Their other scheduled match last week, North Alabama, was postponed due to weather.

Freshman Peyton Lee continues to lead the team in singles victories with 11.  She has won six of her last seven matches.  Four other Bruins have nine singles wins coming into this week's match: sophomores Erin Allen, Sarah Brackin, Drew Hawkins, and Terra Sheldon.

The top doubles duo on the team is Allen and freshman Lauren Carelli.  They have an 8-3 mark and have won five of their last six matches.

Dayton enters Thursday's match with a record of 4-10 as they fell to Austin Peay 7-0 on Wednesday in Clarksville.

Thursday's match will be played indoors at the Nashboro Village Club.  Start time is set for 1:45pm.
