NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After posting back-to-back record breaking weekends of competition, members of the Belmont Track and Field teams look to excel at the Stanford Invitational and San Francisco State Distance Carnival this weekend.
On Friday, a pair of Bruins will see action at the highly competitive Stanford Invitational. Senior Jilian Linklater (Lake Orion, Mich.) will compete in the high jump. She broke the program's record in the event during indoor season and has already notched a top-10 result in the event to open the outdoor season. Junior Marcus Bridger-Wilkinson (Newbury, England) will race in the 1500m, an event he has already provisionally qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in. Just this season alone, he has broken the Belmont indoor records in the 3000m and Mile and the outdoor 1500m mark.
On Saturday, junior David Everett (St. Louis, Mo.) and sophomore Hannah Wittman (Lindenhurst, Ill.) will compete at the seventh annual San Francisco State Distance Carnival. Over 1,300 athletes from 24 states will compete at the two-day meet. Everett and Wittman are both vying for top times in the 5000m. The duo has combined for 12 top-25 finishes in various events during indoor and outdoor.
Live stats for both meets will be available daily.
