NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's track and field team will look to build on its indoor season momentum as it travels to compete at the OVC Championship this weekend, hosted by Eastern Illinois.

Junior Hannah Wittman (Lindenhurst, Ill.) is poised to have a weekend chocked full of strong performances.  She is poised to repeat as champion in the 3000m.  Heading into this weekend, she holds the third-fastest time in the event in the conference (9:55.96).  Wittman will also compete in the Mile, an event in which she owns the fastest time in the OVC (4:53.59), and the 5000m (17:07.25).

Also in position to make waves are junior Emily Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) in the 400m and freshman Jessica King (Fishers, Ind.) in the Mile.

In the field events, senior Michelle Wicker (Franklin, Tenn.) will compete in the Pentathlon and classmate Clare Sobon (Somerset, N.J.) will vie in the throwing events.

The championships begin on Friday at 9 a.m. with the Pentathlon and Heptathlon with other events beginning at 2:30 p.m.  Action resumes on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
