TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The Belmont women's track and field team wrapped its appearance at the three-day Alabama Relays with another set of strong performances.
Highlights from the final day of competiton included a pair of top-15 finishes. In the 400m Invitational, junior Emily Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) placed 14th with a time of 56.98. In the 800m, junior Jessie Wynn (Peoria, Ill.) took 14th (2:16.54) in a field of more than 40 competitors.
"After a week of training for outdoor events, we saw some promising performances from both men and women," said Associate Head Coach Cameron Harvey. "We knew our athletes were going to be worn down from a heavy series of workouts, but we saw a handful of athletes come out with some great results. Vanderbilt is next weekend, and I think we'll see some benefit from having a competition close to home, and our athletes starting to adapt to competition-season training."
Belmont returns to action March 27-28 at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold.
