Breaking out at Boston-Moon

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Belmont women's track and field team concluded its weekend of split action with several strong performances.  The Bruins tallied eight top-10 finishes at the Boston-Moon Classic.

Sophomore Josie Hardin (Acworth, Ga.) led the way for BU with her first-place finish in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 49.79m, more than four feet farther than the next competitor.

Highlights from the track included junior Jessie Wynn (Peoria, Ill.) taking second in the 800m, with a PR time of 2:15.76.  Senior Anna Carrigan (Alexandria, Ky.) notched a PR in the 400m Hurdles with her top-five finish.

"We had a good split weekend overall.  It was great to see Austin improve his record, and we had a lot of good finishes at TSU.  We'll be at Austin Peay next weekend as a full squad to get some time on this year's OVC conference meet facility," said Belmont's Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jeff Langdon.

Belmont returns to action on April 18 at the Austin Peay Invitational.
