CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's track and field team fared well on the first day of the OVC Outdoor Championship, hosted by Austin Peay.
Advancing to the finals of their respective events on the track were junior Emily Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) moved on in the 400m (55.92) and classmate Jessie Wynn (Peoria, Ill.) in the 800m (2:12.31).
Senior Anna Carrigan (Alexandria, Ky.) moved on in the 400m Hurdles (1:05.40).
In the Heptathlon, senior Michelle Wicker (Spring Hill, Tenn.) finished tied for sixth with a total of 2,776 points. She tied for third in the High Jump (1.57m).
Inclement weather forced delays for the final events of Friday.
The Championship resumes Saturday morning with the remainder of the Decathlon and Pentathlon events at 9 a.m., followed by field event finals at 11 a.m. and track events beginning at 2 p.m.
