NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont Women's Track and Field improved its ranking in the South Region's top-25 in the latest USTFCCCA poll, as released by the organization this week. The Bruins moved up two spots to No. 23 in the sixth edition of the regional rankings, fueled by record breaking performances.
All but two women's programs in the Ohio Valley Conference are ranked in respective top-50 region lists this week. Joining the Bruins in the South Region are Tennessee State at 15th, and Tennessee Tech at 27th, and Jacksonville State at 32nd. All are unchanged from last week.
In the Southeast Region, Murray State tumbles to 29th, down nine spots from last week, followed by Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky at 46th and 47th, respectively, for a second week. In the Midwest Region, SIUE comes in at 25th, down two places from last week, followed by EIU in 23rd, up one spot, and Southeast Missouri State ranked 29th for a second consecutive week.
Belmont returns to action on May 6 at the one-day Billy Hayes Invitational, hosted by Indiana University, after taking a week off for final exams.
