NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University women's track and field team will compete in the OVC Outdoor Championship this weekend in Oxford, Alabama.
Thursday, the meet will begin at 1 p.m. 100 with the Decathlon 100 Meter Dash. Friday, action will kick off at 8 a.m. with the multi-events with action continuing Saturday at 11 a.m. with field events.
Sophomore LaCarol Baynes (Houston, Texas) has been a spark for the Bruins on the track this season. She enters the weekend with the fourth best conference time in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.16. Alyssa Andersen (Oswego, Ill.) has consistently improved during her sophomore season. She holds the fifth best conference mark in the hammer throw at 52.19 meters. Junior Karly Hibbard (Edmonds, Wash.) has come back strong this season after having surgery and holds the fifth best conference mark in the javelin at 38.62 meters.
