As expected, the participating teams eased into the 2019 season, using the Labor Day Weekend race as a barometer for meets to come.
Belmont was led by senior Kortney Schardt, who captured a second consecutive individual race title, this year with a time of 17:53. Senior Sierra Lax was the next Bruin to cross the finish line, she as finished 10th with a time of 18:42.
In their first collegiate race, freshmen Zoe Goodmanson and Katie Flaherty acquitted themselves well and earned positive feedback from their seasoned teammates. Juniors Anna Arrick and Caroline Daniel, and freshman Lilyan Hallum rounded out the Bruin counters.
Belmont returns to competition Saturday, Sept. 14th in the Commodore Classic at Percy Warner Park.
