Widener wrapped up his Belmont career with a solid season with the Belmont throwers.  Returning from a serious illness, he posted personal bests in the shot put and hammer throw at Ole Miss in mid-April, which earned him OVC Field Athlete of the Week honors.  He later bested those mark at the Music City Challenge at the end of the month.
