CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team is tied for third place after round one of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate held Monday at Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The Bruins posted a team score of 311 in Monday's first round to finish the day tied for third place with Houston Baptist. Murray State has the team lead at 296, while Eastern Kentucky is second at 300.
Two Belmont golfers rank among the top-15 after round one. Junior Evin Edens is tied for ninth place after carding a 76 (+4), while freshman Megan Heath is tied for 12th after shooting a 77 (+5). Other BU scores from round one included: junior Shay Sullivan (T-22nd, 79) freshman Abbie Gregory (T-22nd, 79), junior Sydney Hudson (T-38th, 81). The individual leader after day one is Delaney Howson of Murray State, who shot a tournament record 66 in round one.
Freshman Alexi Bevans is competing as an individual and is tied for 77th after shooting a 90.
The second and final round will begin Tuesday morning with an 8:30am shotgun start.
