MURRAY, Ky. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in third place at this week's Drake Creek Invitational hosted by Murray State at the Drake Creek Golf Course in Murray, Kentucky.
Belmont carded a 306 in Tuesday's final round to finish in third place with a 54-hole score of 922. Host Murray State won the team title with a mark of 887, while Western Kentucky placed second at 915.
Three Bruins finished among the top-20. Freshman Megan Heath had her first top-10 finish as a collegian as she tied for sixth place at 226. Junior Sydney Hudson posted her second straight top-10 as she tied for 10th place with a three round score of 229. Senior Shay Sullivan tied for 17th place as she carded a 233 over 54 holes.
Other Belmont scores from the event included: junior Evin Edens (T-28th, 240) and freshman Abbie Gregory (32nd, 243).
Freshman Alexi Bevans, competing as an individual, tied for 45th place with a score of 251.
The women's golf team takes a few weeks off before returning to the course on Monday, September 30th when they play a dual match with Lipscomb at Nashville's McCabe Golf Course.
