Women's Golf Finishes 12th at the UNF Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In their first event of the spring season, the Belmont women's golf finished in 12^th place at the UNF Invitational held this week at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.

Belmont posted a final round team score of 328 to finish the event in 12^th place with a 54-hole score of 992.  Western Carolina won the team title with a score of 919, while Daytona State finished second at 930.

The Bruins were led by junior Evin Edens, who finished in 32^nd place with a three-round score of 242.  Freshman Abbie Gregory placed 49^th with a score of 249.  Other BU scores from the event included: Shay Sullivan (51^st, 250), Sydney Hudson (59^th, 255), and Alexi Bevans (88^th, 259).  Daytona State's Tiffany Chan was the tournament's individual medalist with a 54-hole mark of 218.

The women's golf team will be back on the course next Monday-Tuesday, March 17-18, at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee Tech in Sevierville, Tennessee.
