SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team is tied for sixth place after round one of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held Monday at Sevierville Country Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.
On a cold and misty day in East Tennessee, the Bruins shot a team score of 323 to finish the day tied for sixth place with Indiana State. Murray State had the team lead at 315, while Marshall was second at 317, and Eastern Kentucky was third at 318.
Two Bruins ranked among the top-15 after round one. Junior Sydney Hudson carded a five-over par 76 on Monday to finish the day in seventh place. She is six shots back of Murray State's Delaney Howson, the individual leader. Freshman Abbie Gregory was tied for 15th place after posting a nine-over par 80. Other Belmont scores from the first round included: Evin Edens (T-30, 83), Megan Heath (T-36, 84), and Shay Sullivan (T-56, 88).
Freshman Alexi Bevans, competing as an individual, is tied for 49th place after shooting an 86.
The second and final round will begin Tuesday morning at 7:30am CT.
