GLENCOE, Ala. – The Belmont women's golf team stands in 10th place after round one of the Chris Banister Classic held Sunday at RTJ Silver Lakes Golf Course in Glencoe, Alabama.
The Bruins posted a team score of 331 in Sunday's first round to finish the day in 10th place. Troy has the team lead at 305, while Morehead State is in second place at 308.
Senior Sydney Hudson leads BU after round one. The Virginia native is currently tied for 12th place after carding a 77 on Sunday. She is four shots behind the individual leaders: Emily Stallings of Samford, Langley Vannoy of Troy, and Morehead State's Jeanette Petersen, who all shot 73. Other Belmont scores from round one included: sophomore Alexi Bevans (T-31, 81), Abbie Gregory (T-42, 84), Katie Story (T-57, 89), and Megan Heath (T-57, 89).
Freshman Mallory Sullivan is competing as an individual and is tied for 12th place after shooting a 77.
The second round will begin Wednesday morning at 7:30am. Belmont's golfers will tee off from #1 tee between 10:12-10:48am.
