GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in tenth place at this week's UAB Fall Beach Blast held at The Peninsula Golf Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The Bruins carded a team score of 301 in Tuesday's final round to finish in tenth place with a 36-hole mark of 607. Southern Miss won the team title with a score of 593. McNeese State was second at 595, while Western Kentucky and Tennessee Tech were tied for third at 596.
Two Bruins finished among the top-15. Freshman Emma Kate Liu finished in a tie for second place at 144, three shots behind medalist Kayla Wilbourn of UAB. It was the best finish by a Belmont women's golfer this fall. Junior Abbie Gregory tied for 11th place at 147 after shooting a 74 on Tuesday. It was her fourth top-15 finish in five events this fall.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: junior Megan Heath (T-33, 154), junior Alexi Bevans (50th, 164). Sophomore Mallory Sullivan withdrew before the final round due to an injury.
This event wraps up the 2015 fall season for the women's golf team. In five events, they posted three top-10 finishes.
