JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In their first tournament of the spring season, the Belmont women's golf team finished in 15th place at the UNF Collegiate held this week at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club in Jacksonville, Florida.
Belmont shot a team score of 322 on Tuesday to finish the tournament in 15th place with a 54-hole total of 960. Houston won the team title with a score of 885, while Texas was second at 900.
Two Bruins finished among the top-60. Senior Sydney Hudson carded a two-over par 74 to finish the event in a tie for 48th place with a score of 237. Freshman Katie Story tied for 59th place at 240 after shooting a 78 in Tuesday's final round. Other Belmont scores included: freshman Mallory Sullivan (T-72, 245), senior Evin Edens (T-76, 246), and sophomore Megan Heath (T-78, 247).
Three BU golfers competed as individuals: sophomore Abbie Gregory (T-76, 246), sophomore Alexi Bevans (T-95, 255), and redshirt freshman Maddie Williams (T-98, 261).
Houston's Megan Thothong was individual medalist with a score of 217.
The women's golf team will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17, at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tennessee.
