MURRAY, Ky. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in fourth place at the Murray State Invitational held this week at Miller Memorial Golf Club in Murray, Kentucky.
Belmont posted a team score of 316 in Tuesday's final round to finish the event in fourth place with a 36-hole score of 630. Host Murray State won the team title with a mark of 603. Southern Illinois was second at 614, while Tennessee Tech was third at 623.
The Bruins had two golfers among the top-15. Junior Abbie Gregory posted her second straight top-10 finish as she tied for seventh place at 151. She carded a 75 in the final round. Redshirt sophomore Maddie Williams earned a top-20 finish for the second straight tournament as she tied for 15th at 157. She shot an 80 on Tuesday.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: freshman Emma Kate Liu (T-23, 160), redshirt sophomore Cori Burns (T-44, 164), and sophomore Mallory Sullivan (T-44, 164).
Two Bruins competed as individuals. Junior Megan Heath tied for 19th place with a 158, while junior Alexi Bevans finished in a tie for 52nd at 166.
The women's golf team has a few weeks off before returning to action on October 12-13 at the APSU Intercollegiate in Clarksville, Tennessee.
