DICKSON, Tenn. - - Belmont University women's golf stands second following the opening round of the 2016 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.

The Bruins found the Greystone Golf Club layout to their liking, carding three sub-80 rounds.

Belmont posted a team total of 308, two shots behind team leader Southern Illinois.

Junior Mallory Sullivan (Smithville, Tenn.) continued her solid fall season with an opening round of one-over par 73, just two shots behind individual leader Kristie Yang of the Salukis.

Senior Abbie Gregory (Hendersonville, Tenn.) T-8 with a five-over par 77, while senior Megan Heath (Auburn, Ala.) stands T-10 with a six-over par 78.

Southern Illinois, host Austin Peay, and Belmont have separated from the pack a bit heading into Tuesday's final round.
