JONESBORO, Ark. – The Belmont women's golf team posted their second consecutive top-five finish of the fall season as they placed fifth at the Lady Redwolves Classic held this week at Sage Meadows Golf Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
On a windy Tuesday, the Bruins posted a team score of 310 to finish the event in fifth place with a 54-hole mark of 927. UTEP won the team title with a score of 891. Host Arkansas State was second at 911, while Arkansas State's B Team placed third at 917.
All five Bruins placed among the top-30. Senior Abbie Gregory carded a 78 in the final round to finish in a tie for 12th at 230. It was her fourth top-15 finish of the season. Fellow senior Megan Heath finished in 17th place with a score of 232. The Auburn, Alabama native shot a 78 on Tuesday.
Sophomore Emma Kate Liu and redshirt junior Maddie Williams each tied for 20th place at 234. Each shot a 77 in the final round.
Junior Mallory Sullivan posted a 79 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 28th place with a score of 237.
This tournament wraps up the fall season for the women's golf team. In five events, they had one team title and two top-five finishes.
