BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Belmont women's golf team finished eighth at the Samford Intercollegiate held this week at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Bruins posted a team score of 317 in Tuesday's final round to finish in eighth place with a 54-hole mark of 952. Troy won the team title with a score of 870, with Charleston Southern in second at 901.
Junior Megan Heath led the squad as she tied for 17th place with a three round score of 230. She carded a 77 in the final round. Fellow junior Abbie Gregory shot an 81 on Tuesday to finish the evet in a tie for 33rd place at 238.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: junior Alexi Bevans (T-38, 240) and freshman Emma Kate Liu (T-44, 244).
Redshirt sophomore Maddie Williams, who withdrew after round one due to an injury, returned to action on Tuesday and shot an 87 for a 36-hole total of 169.
The women's golf team returns to action on April 1-2 at the EKU Colonel Classic in Richmond, Kentucky.
