NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team opens up its 2016 spring season today and Thursday as they take on fellow OVC member Austin Peay in a two-day dual match at the Craft Farms Golf Course in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The Bruins enter the spring after having a solid fall campaign. In five events, they posted three top-five finishes, including fourth place showings at the Murray State and Austin Peay tournaments.
BU is led by junior Abbie Gregory. The Goodlettsville, Tennessee native leads the team in scoring with a 76.3 average, which also ranks in the top-10 in the OVC. She has three top-10 finishes, including a tie for fourth place at Austin Peay last October.
This week's dual match with Austin Peay will take place on the Cypress Bend course at Craft Farms near Gulf Shores, Alabama. It is a two-day, 36-hole match, with 18 holes played today and 18 holes on Thursday. The course will play to a par 72 with a length of 5,995 yards.
