RICHMOND, Ky. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in ninth place at the EKU Colonel Classic held this week at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Bruins posted a team score of 325 in Saturday's final round to finish in ninth place with a 54-hole mark of 963. Host Eastern Kentucky won the team title at 912, while Ball State was second at 922.
Two Bruins finished among the top-30. Junior Megan Heath tied for 24th place at 238 after carding an 81 on Saturday. Fellow junior Abbie Gregory shot an 80 in the final round and tied for 30th place at 239.
Other Belmont scores included: freshman Emma Kate Liu (T-45, 245) and junior Alexi Bevans (T-54, 247). Sophomore Mallory Sullivan, who withdrew after round one, came back on Saturday and shot an 82.
Aneta Abrahamova of IUPUI was the individual medalist with a score of 218.
The women's golf team is back in action next Friday-Saturday, April 8-9 at the MSU Invitational in Murray, Kentucky.
