MURRAY, Ky. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in a tie for ninth place at the Murray State/Jan Weaver Invitational held this weekend at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Kentucky.
The Bruins carded a team score of 323 in Saturday's final round to finish in a tie for ninth place with Alabama State at 976. Morehead State won the team title with a mark of 935, while host Murray State placed second at 938.
Belmont was led by junior Megan Heath. The junior shot an 80 in the final round to finish in a tie for 26th place at 242. It was her sixth top-30 finish of the season. Other BU scores from the event included: junior Abbie Gregory (T-32, 246), freshman Emma Kate Liu (T-32, 246), and junior Alexi Bevans (T-60, 260).
Sophomores Mallory Sullivan and Maddie Williams, who both withdrew after round one, returned to competition in the third round. Sullivan shot a 79, while Williams carded an 81.
Murray State's Moa Folke was individual medalist with a score of 223.
The women's golf team has a week off before returning to competition on April 18-20 at the OVC Championship held at Hampton Cove Golf Course outside Huntsville, Alabama.
