LEDBETTER, Ky. – The Belmont women's golf team is in seventh place after day one of the Drake Creek Invitational held Monday at the Drake Creek Golf Course in Ledbetter, Kentucky.
The Bruins posted rounds of 309 and 307 on day one to finish the day in seventh place at 616. Western Kentucky has the team lead at 594, with Murray State in second at 602, and Southern Illinois and Akron tied for third at 610.
Three Bruins rank among the top-20 after 36 holes. Sophomore Emma Kate Liu is tied for 11th place at 151. The Dallas, Texas native carded rounds of 77 and 74 on Monday. She is five shots behind the four golfers tied for the individual lead.
Junior Mallory Sullivan is tied for 18th place at 154. She posted rounds of 80 and 74. Senior Abbie Gregory is tied for 20th place after posting a 155 (75-80).
Other Belmont scores from day one included: senior Megan Heath (T-27, 156) and junior Maddie Williams (58th, 170).
Three Bruins competed as individuals: senior Alexi Bevans (T-18, 154), freshmen Julia Nittoli and Carlee Nanney (T-49, 149).
The third and final round begins Tuesday morning at 8:30am CT.
