GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Belmont women's golf team defeated Austin Peay by five strokes in their dual match played this week at the Cotton Creek course at Craft Farms in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The Bruins defeated Austin Peay 630 to 635. Belmont carded a 321 on Saturday, while the Lady Govs shot a 318.
Belmont's Mallory Sullivan earned medalist honors with a two-round score of 155. She posted an 80 in Saturday's final round. Senior Abbie Gregory finished with a total of 158, while freshman Julia Nittoli was one shot back at 159. Closing out the scoring players for Belmont included senior Megan Heath at 161 and sophomore Emma Kate Liu at 163.
Three Belmont players competed as individuals: redshirt junior Maddie Williams finished at 165, freshman Carlee Nanney posted a 166, while senior Alexi Bevans carded a 170.
Austin Peay was led by sisters Ashton and Taylor Goodley, who each finished with a score of 156.
The women's golf team is back in action next weekend, March 19-21, at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tennessee.
