SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in third place at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate held this week at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tennessee.
On a sunny, warm March day, Belmont posted a score of 303 in the final round to finish in third place at 916. Lee won the team title at 895, while host Tennessee Tech was second at 906.
All five Bruins posted top-20 finishes. Freshman Julia Nittoli led BU as she finished in a tie for eighth place at 228. She finished nine shots behind medalist Elizabeth England of Carson-Newman. It was Nittoli's third top-10 finish of the season.
Sophomore Emma Kate Liu shot a 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 11th place at 231. It was the sixth time this season she has finished among the top-20.
Junior Mallory Sullivan shot the low round of the day with a 73 and finished in a tie for 13th place at 232. Senior Megan Heath tied for 15th place at 233, while fellow senior Abbie Gregory placed 18th at 235.
Two BU golfers competed as individuals. Freshman Carlee Nanney was 27th with a score of 243, while redshirt junior Maddie Williams was 34th at 253.
The women's golf teams returns to competition on March 31-April 1 at the EKU Colonel Classic in Richmond, Kentucky.
