RICHMOND, Ky. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in ninth place at the EKU Colonel Classic held this week at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Bruins posted a team score of 323 on Saturday to finish in ninth place with a 54-hole score of 955. Ball State won the team title with a mark of 900, while Ohio placed second at 913.
Two Belmont golfers finished among the top-30. Senior Abbie Gregory led the Bruins as she carded a final round 78 to finish in a tie for 20th place at 234. Junior Mallory Sullivan shot an 80 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 29th place at 236.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: sophomore Emma Kate Liu (T-44, 242), senior Megan Heath (T-52, 83), and freshman Julia Nittoli (81st, 168).
Two golfers competed as individuals, freshman Carlee Nanney tied for 29th at 236, while redshirt junior Maddie Williams tied for 47th at 243.
Ball State's Sydney Anderson won medalist honors as she posted a score of 200.
The women's golf team returns to action next Friday and Saturday at the Murray State Invitational in Murray, Kentucky.
