The Bruins Produced 16 Hits on the Day

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.-- Belmont University dropped both competitive contests against The University of Dayton (5-3) and Austin Peay State University (5-4) on the final day of the Governors classic.

The Bruins now hold a 13-8 record on the season after splitting the Governors Classic 2-2.

How it Happened: Game 1
The Dayton Flyers set the tone for the day with an RBI single to begin the tight matchup.

Belmont countered quickly in the second with a momentous RBI single from Baie Ensio. The Bruins took the 2-1 lead in the second on Nicole Hughes' RBI single to score Kaley Varner who was previously hit by a pitch.

A 3 RBI double from the Flyers' Kaelene Walkter gave Dayton a 2 run lead in the fourth.

Bases loaded in the fourth the Bruins capitalized to score Ensio on Hughes second RBI single of the day.

Dayton's Taylor Erschen finalized the scoring for the day with a solo homerun to add insurance to the lead.

Emma Summers and Ellie Giles both saw time in the circle to combine for 7 strikeouts.

How it Happened: Game 2
