EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In its first road match in the Horizon League Saturday, the Belmont University men's tennis team won in efficient, dominating fashion at Southern Indiana. The Bruins (11-5, 2-0 HL) captured their fourth-straight victory while claiming their second consecutive sweep with a 4-0 rout at the Tri-State Athletic Club in Evansville, Indiana.

Belmont conceded very few games to the host Screaming Eagles (5-10, 1-2 HL), earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles before taking No. 2-4 singles in swift straight sets.

The tandem of junior
Tomas Luis and sophomore
Ian Cruz was first off the court in doubles play following a 6-2 win at the third spot over Southern Indiana's Guy Finkelstein and Dylan Brown. The nationally-ranked duo of graduate student
Marko Ilic and junior
Riccardo Trione then finished off the coveted doubles points at the No. 1 position with another 6-2 win against the Screaming Eagles' Alfrendo Vogelaar and Lucas Sakamaki.

Sophomore
Gabriel Sardo and junior
Alfred Wallin were leading Southern Indiana's Omar ElSamahy and Quinten Gillespie 5-1 at the second spot when the doubles point was clinched by the Bruins.

In singles action, it was Wallin who closed out the match on the second court with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph against Sakamaki.

Cruz got the first singles match of the day at the fourth flight where he dismissed Brown 6-3, 6-0. Luis then made it 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Gillespie at No. 3 singles.

At the top singles flight, Ilic had taken the opening set, 6-3, from Vogelaar before Wallin put the finishing touches on the contest.
