NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team fell to Boulevard rival Lipscomb 6-1 in a match played Sunday at the Beaman Family Tennis Complex on the Belmont campus.
The Bisons earned the first point of the match as they earned wins at number two and three doubles. The Bruins did win at number one as sophomore
Mariia Hlahola and
Anastasiya Zholdakova defeated Mariya Dolzhenko and Sofiia Paladi 6-2.
In singles, Lipscomb earned wins in five of six matches to earn the 6-1 victory over Belmont. The lone BU singles win came at number three as Zholdakova beat Rut Galindo 7-6 (10-8), 6-3.
The women's tennis team (6-4) is back in action next Saturday at Western Kentucky for a 1:00pm match in Bowling Green.
