ST. CHARLES, Mo. – For the second-straight day, the Belmont University men's tennis team shut out its opponent on the road. The Bruins swept Lindenwood University 4-0 Sunday afternoon at the Lindenwood Tennis Facility in St. Charles, Missouri, extending their winning streak to six and remaining perfect in Horizon League play.

Belmont (9-7, 4-0 Horizon) was met with little resistance at second and third doubles and the Bruins won two singles matches by retirement following sizable leads at the second and third spots. Winning his second consecutive match, junior
Ruben Busch picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles against the Lions' Mattis Lamm. It was the lone singles match to be contested in full.

Senior
Tomas Luis led Lindenwood's Bernardo Henriques 6-2, 5-0 at No. 2 singles and junior
Ian Cruz was up 6-1, 4-1 on Nathan Matsuguma at No. 3 singles when both Henriques and Matsuguma retired.

At the top singles spot, senior
Alfred Wallin led Carlos Rodriguez Gonzalez 6-2, 1-0 when the match went final. The Lions (2-10, 0-4) were also trailing Belmont by a set at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Senior
Niklas von Hellens took the first set, 6-2, against Alonso De Prada at the fourth position and junior
Gabriel Sardo won set one 6-1 over Fernando Martin Paz at the fifth spot.

Wallin teamed up with Cruz for a 6-0 rout of Lindenwood's De Prada and Martin Paz at No. 2 doubles, while Luis and Sardo took care of the Lions' Lamm and Rodiguez Gonzalez 6-2 at third doubles.

At No. 1 doubles, Lindenwood's Henriques and Matsuguma led von Hellens and Busch, 5-4.

The Bruins will have 13 days off from match action before returning on Saturday, April 20 at home against Tennessee Tech for senior day. First serve from the Beaman Family Tennis Complex in the Music City is scheduled for 1 p.m.
