Belmont Announces Jan. 31 Basketball Doubleheader vs. Murray State

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University Athletics announced Monday it will host a men's and women's basketball doubleheader Saturday, Jan. 31 vs. Murray State.
 
The Belmont-Murray State women's basketball game will tip at 4 p.m. (ESPN+) followed by the Belmont-Murray State men's basketball game at 7 p.m.
 
The men's game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
 
The women's matchup will be a rematch of the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference championship game.
 
Last year's meeting in Nashville was one of the highest-scoring games in Curb Event Center history; Tuti Jones, Kendal Cheesman, and Kendall Holmes combined to score 74 points as the Bruins won, 96-89.
 
The two programs – led by Bart Brooks and Rechelle Tuner, respectively – won a combined 51 games last season with each making postseason runs.
 
Belmont women's basketball has won 24 of the previous 30 meetings.
 
The Belmont-Murray State men's basketball series has established itself as one of the top rivalries in college basketball.
 
Between championship stakes and NBA players, the Bruins and Racers deliver high drama and entertaining theatre.
 
Belmont won both meetings last season, including 70-60 on Senior Day.
