MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Belmont University women's tennis team forced a pair of third sets in singles matches Saturday at Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro but was only able to come up with one match win in a 6-1 loss. Sophomore
Hana Sokolovic provided the Bruins (1-4) with their lone point inside the Adams Tennis Complex, securing a triumph at No. 3 singles.

After dropping the opening set, 6-4, to the Blue Raiders' Lena Peyer, Sokolovic took the second set, 6-4, before prevailing in a third-set tiebreaker.

On court two in singles, senior
Viktoria Kliimand also went to three sets with Middle Tennessee's Ilaria Sposetti but fell in a third-set tiebreaker after winning set one, 6-2.

Fellow senior
Aly Getty played two tightly-contested sets with the Blue Raiders' Cassidy Mataia at the fourth singles position, but came up just short in both, 7-5, 6-4.

Middle Tennessee (5-3) clinched the doubles point at the top spot where Sara Conde and Peyer defeated Getty and senior
Anastasiya Zholdakova 6-3. At No. 3 doubles, the Blue Raiders' duo of Mataia and Sposetti were 6-0 winners.

Belmont returns to match action at the Ensworth Tennis Center next weekend. The Bruins host Western Kentucky Friday at 4 p.m. before welcoming Southeast Missouri State Saturday for a 5 p.m. first serve.
