NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University women's tennis team fell to crosstown rival Lipscomb 4-0 Friday afternoon on the Lipscomb campus in Nashville. Â
The Bisons picked up the first point of the match as they posted wins at positions one and three. After the Bruins had to forfeit at number three, the Lipscomb duo of Mariia Dolzhenko and Sofiia
Paladi beat Belmont's
Viktoria Kliimand and
Hana Sokolovic 6-1.  The match at number was unfinished.
In singles, Lipscomb closed out the 4-0 victory as they earned wins at positions one, three, and five (by default). The other three matches were not completed since the dual match result had been determined.
The women's tennis team (1-9) is back in action next Friday as they play at Charleston Southern. Match time is set for 11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET.
