MACON, Ga. - - Belmont University women's golfer
Sloane Biddle claimed medalist honors at the Brickyard Collegiate hosted by Mercer University Tuesday.

Biddle entered Tuesday's final round in a three-way tie for first place with Emilia Vaisto and Eujin Pyon of Mercer at one over par 73.
Â
The Old Hickory, Tennessee native started her round on the seventh hole, carding birdies on two of her first five holes after an opening dropped shot.
Â
Biddle took the individual lead and recorded 10 consecutive pars before a dropped shot on her 16
th hole, the par 4 fourth hole.
Â
From there, with nationally-ranked Abir Taibi of Seminole State posting a 36-hole total of two over par 146, Biddle knew that a par-par finish would secure the title.

She proceeded to par her final two holes to record Belmont's first individual tournament title of the season and first for Belmont since teammate
Chloe Tarkany in The Velvet tournament in Paducah, Kentucky in September 2023.

Biddle's total of one over par 145 (73-72) is the best 36-hole score for a Bruin since
Delia Gibbs posted 142 in the 2022-23 season.

Biddle becomes the 10
th different Bruin to win an individual tournament title and third freshman in program history.

Belmont placed sixth on the team leaderboard with a 36-hole total of 627.
Â
Tarkany moved up 22 spots on the leaderboard Tuesday with a final round 76.

Eva Graham tied for 38
th while
Emilee Swagger placed 51
st.

As individual competitors,
Harper Edwards tied for 43
rd and
Paige Hammarstrom placed 61
st.
