Hilary Fuller (Brisbane, Australia) and redshirt sophomore men's basketball player
Drew Scharnowski (Burlington, Ill.) have been named Trane Student-Athletes of the Month for January.
Fuller has been the women's basketball team's most consistent player for the last month. She has scored in double figures in seven straight games and had career-highs in points (27) and rebounds (9) in the team's win over Illinois State last Sunday. She currently ranks second on the team in scoring at 14.2 ppg and rebounding at 4.6 rpg.
Scharnowski has become a stalwart in the paint for the men's basketball team as they have started 14-3 on the season. He has scored in double figures in seven of his last eight games, including 18 points and nine rebounds versus UNI. He ranks third on the team in scoring (11.8) and is tied for first in rebounding at 6.5 per game.
