AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in third place at the Jaguar Invitational in Augusta, Georgia.
In Tuesday's final round, Belmont posted a six under par 282 to finish in third place at 859. Host Augusta won the event at 841, with High Point in second place at 852.
Three Bruins finished among the top-20 at the event. Senior
Chris Harpum and junior
Omar Khalid each tied for fourth place at 212. On Tuesday, Harpum shot a three-under par 69, while Khalid posted a 71. They were five strokes back of the co-medalists, Chapman Barnett and Pieter Rossouw of Augusta (207).
Junior
Hugh Donegan carded a two-under par 70 in the final round to move up five spots into a tie for 17
th place at 216.
Freshman
Jackson Whaley, in his first event as a Bruin, tied for 24
th place at 220, while senior
Jack Darke moved up 12 spots on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 36
th place at 224.
Two Bruins are competing as individuals: freshman
Leo Froio (T-36, 224) and junior
Brennan Cozad (T-42, 225).
The men's golf team will be back in action on September 20-22 at the Grahame McDowell Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama.
