2025 Outdoor (Junior)

• Ran a 5000m personal best of 14:21.66 at the Raleigh Relays meet
• At the Bryan Clay Invitational, ran a 10K personal best of 29:46.24
• Placed 7th in the 10K at the MVC Outdoor Championships

2025 Indoor (Junior)

• Earned a career best of 8:18.31 in the 3000m at the Vanderbilt Invitational
• Placed first in the 5000m at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite
• At the MVC Indoor Championships, finished 4th in the 5000m and 9th in the 3000m

Prior to Belmont: Hammel competed at Furman during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. While with the Paladins, Hammel earned multiple awards, including 2020 Southern Conference Cross Country Freshman of the Year, 2021 Southern Conference All-Freshman Indoor Track (5,000m), 2020 All-Southern Conference Cross Country (second team), 2020 Southern Conference All-Freshman Cross Country, and 2021 Southern Conference All-Freshman Outdoor Track (10,000m).

At his most recent stop, Hammel ran for Florida State from 2021-2024, recorded three top-50 performances for the Seminoles, and finished 94th at the ACC Championships his last season with a time of 25:06.8 in the 8K.
