Cameron Harvey is entering his 16th season with Belmont Athletics and ninth as Associate Head Coach of Track & Field. He oversees the sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers and multi events. 

Harvey has coached multiple athletes to conference championships and qualifying marks for NCAA Preliminary Round, including two qualifiers who reached the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Sprinter Lynette Rives reached Nationals under Harvey's tutelage in the 200 meters in 2009, and hurdler Caleb Corprew became the first Belmont men's track and field athlete to ever compete at Nationals in 2018 in the 400-meter hurdles. Both would also go on to race at the USATF Outdoor Championships. In 2021, Harvey coached Adreanna Parlette to the US Olympic Trials in the long jump, the first active Belmont athlete to compete at the Trials.  

Harvey's athletes have broken and re-broken nearly every school record in the sprints, hurdles, jumps and relays since he joined the staff in 2008. His training also helped Belmont sprinter and Lebanon National Team member Nate Nammour set a Lebanese national record in the 400 meters. 

As the Bruins jumped from the OVC to the Missouri Valley Conference in 2022, Harvey’s crew continued to perform at a high level. At the indoor championships, Tyra Finkeldey tied for second place in pole vault, as Emma García Palencia claimed third, setting a new program record in the pentathlon. On the men’s side, Knox Perry earned third place in pole vault at the outdoor championships. Noah Grimm also established new high jump program records both indoors and outdoors. 

Harvey joined the Bruins after a four-year stint at his alma mater Marquette University as a volunteer coach and then graduate assistant. While with the Golden Eagles, he was responsible for designing and implementing workouts for all sprinters and hurdlers as well as handling scouting, recruiting and scheduling. During his time at Marquette, Harvey helped coach NCAA Division I qualifiers in the decathlon and indoor 800 meters and three USATF Junior National qualifiers in the 100, 200 and high jump. 

The program also saw an amazing 17 school records established in events ranging from the 60 meters to the outdoor pole vault on both the men's and women's side during Harvey's tenure. 

Harvey, who earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Marquette, was a four-year member of the track and field team. Marquette's record holder in the 110 hurdles, he was also a two-time Conference USA finalist in both the 60-meter hurdles and 110-meter hurdles. 

A native of Oshkosh, Wisc., Harvey resides in Nashville.
