“I happened to see Kirbie while I was watching fellow signee Heather Turner play early this past summer,” Kuhlmeyer said. “I liked what I saw and continued to keep my eye on her. I knew I wanted to add another middle infielder and after talking with a friend of mine from the Houston area, it became clear that she was what we were looking for. She will push for time at short, but is a versatile athlete who can play anywhere in the infield and can be put in the outfield if needed. Offensively, Kirbie will be able to also put a lot of pressure on defenses with her ability to utilize the short game, but also power one by any defenses that try to crash in her.”
