Grant O’Callaghan serves as a women’s distance assistant for the Belmont cross country and track and field program working alongside assistant cross country and track and field coach Hannah Brookover.

Concluding his collegiate career at nearby rival Lipscomb, O’Callaghan spent five years at Southeastern Louisiana where he ran both cross country and track. A five-time Southland Conference medalist in indoor and outdoor track, O’Callaghan secured All-Southland First Team honors at the 2020-21 Southland Cross Country Championship race after posting a fifth-place finish. Winning gold in the distance medley relay at the 2020 Southland Indoor Championships, O’Callaghan was a silver medalist in the 3000m. At the 2018 Southland Outdoor Championships, O’Callaghan captured silver in the 1500m, and he was a two-time top-10 finisher at the Southland Cross Country Championship.
 
As a graduate transfer on the opposite end of Belmont Boulevard, O’Callaghan put a bow on his cross country career by becoming the third Bison to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Cross Country National Championship race. He placed 10th at the 2021 NCAA South Regional Cross Country Championship with a personal best 10K time of 29:48.7. Collecting Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) All-Louisiana Track and Field Team accolades while at Southeastern Louisiana, O’Callaghan holds an indoor 5000m personal record of 14:42.76 and an 8K personal record of 23:45.2.
 
A native of Flowery Branch, Georgia, O’Callaghan helped lead Flowery Branch High School to a state championship.
 
Regularly appearing on the Southland Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll, O’Callaghan received a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in exercise physiology from Southeastern Louisiana in May of 2021.
