NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team opens up its 2014 spring season this Sunday afternoon as they play at #16 Vanderbilt.
The Bruins have been led by senior Marko Lovrinovic and junior Mauricio Antun. Lovrinovic went 6-3 in singles in the fall and won two flight titles (River Forest and Winthrop). Antun, whose brother Renato played for BU from 2008-2013, won four singles matches during the fall campaign and won the #1 Flight at September's River Forest Invitational.
Lovrinovic and Anrun also saw success in doubles action. They went 9-2 as a duo and won two flight championships (River Forest, Winthrop).
"I am excited about where we are as a team," said Jim Madrigal, Belmont head coach. "I think the successes we had in the fall gives us a lot of confidence entering the spring season."
This will be the fifth time Vanderbilt and Belmont have met the court. The Commodores lead the series 4-0. The match will be played indoors and will begin at 4:30pm at the Currey Tennis Center.
