Men's Tennis Releases Fall Schedule

Defending Horizon League Champions Back in Action

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's tennis head coach Jeff Cero released the program's fall schedule Tuesday.

The Bruins have five potential fall tournaments on the docket, with some flexibility and subject to change based on qualifications for ITA signature fall events.

Belmont opens Sept. 12-14 in Murfreesboro, taking part in the Middle Tennessee/Louisville hidden duals. The Bruins, Blue Raiders, and Cardinals have rich history competing, with all three annually standing as conference contenders and national programs.

Belmont could have players headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma Sept. 20-28 for the ITA All-American Championships. When Hendrik Inno and Marko Ilic rose to No. 8 nationally in men's doubles, they represented Belmont in the event in 2019.

From there, Belmont will host the Horizon League Fall Individual Championships Oct. 3-6 from the Beaman Family Tennis Complex. The Bruins recorded seven victories in last year's event in Cleveland, Ohio.

A focus of the fall is the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships Oct. 9-14. Once again, Purdue University serves as host institution.

Seven different Bruins won matches in last year's edition.

The final two ITA events of the fall – the ITA Sectional Championships in Athens, Georgia and the ITA Conference Masters in San Diego, California – both take place the weekend of Nov. 6-9. The Bruins will learn of their eligibility for these events at a later date.

This past spring, Belmont captured its second Horizon League Championship title in three seasons and third consecutive Horizon League South Division crown. The Bruins reached their fourth NCAA Championship in program history and third in the last five years.
