TEMPE, Ariz. – Once again, the Belmont University men's tennis team has been selected as an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), while two Bruins –
Will Ecklund and
Austin Yack – have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Belmont posted above a 3.2 team grade point average during the 2025-26 academic year, including a 3.32 during the fall semester.
Â
A graduate transfer, Ecklund graduated with his bachelor's degree in finance, business management and organizational leadership from Drake and is pursuing his Master of Business Administration at Belmont. The Clive, Iowa (Waukee HS), native played in both the singles and doubles lineup for the Bruins this past spring. Pairing up with sophomore
Charlie Robin, Ecklund was a staple at No. 2 doubles where the duo put together an impressive 12-4 record. Ecklund won a team-tying best 16 doubles matches, finishing the year 16-7 overall alongside Robin.
Â
In his freshman year, Yack played throughout the fall tournament season and saw action in both the singles and doubles lineup indoors in January and February. A native of Thornhill, Ontario, Canada, Yack had a strong fall in which he went 5-4 in singles and defeated 2025 Horizon League Player of the Year Lincoln Battle.
Â
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the academic year.
Â
To earn ITA All-Academic Team recognition, a team must hold a GPA of 3.2 or above for the academic year with all student-athletes listed on the institutional eligibility form included.
