Men’s Tennis Takes Pair of Singles Matches from Middle Tennessee Saturday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – On the second day of the MTSU Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the Belmont University men's tennis team claimed two singles wins against host Middle Tennessee Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Cagan Efe Tufekci and junior Morgan Woodson came up with match wins versus the Blue Raiders' Santiago Lora and Houston Jacques, respectively.
 
Winning a decisive third set, 6-1, after dropping the second set, 6-0, Efe Tufekci defeated Middle Tennessee's Lora following his 6-3 opening set triumph.
 
Woodson topped the Blue Raiders' Jacques in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
 
Freshman Judah McEachern-Brown nearly gutted out a hard-fought three-set match against Middle Tennessee's Alexandre Vassard but lost by the narrowest of margins. After evening the match with a 7-4 second-set tiebreak win, McEachern-Brown fell 7-5 in a deciding third-set tiebreaker.
 
In Saturday morning's doubles session, Woodson and Efe Tufekci took the Blue Raiders' Vassard and Jacques to a tiebreaker but were edged 7-4 after getting to 6-all in the set.

Belmont wraps up play in Murfreesboro Sunday, taking on the University of Alabama at Birmingham in a mini dual. First serve from the MTSU Tennis Complex is slated for 10 a.m.
