Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont Volleyball (9-10, 6-2 OVC) defeated Austin Peay (6-17, 1-7 OV) in three straight set, 25-23, 28-26 and 25-17.
Senior Jocelyn Youngdahl (Stillwater, Minn) recorded 12 kills on 22 attempts for an average of .364. Sophomore Brie Lewis (Stillwell, Kan.) and redshirt freshman Alexa Nichols (Walton, Ky.) both recorded nine kills on the evening. Sophomore Arianna Person led the offense with 14 kills on the evening as well as 11 digs. Sophomore Emily Richards (Penfield, N.Y.) led the defense with 14 digs while redshirt sophomore Emma Price (Fort Mill, SC) recorded 42 assists on the evening.
After a tough match Friday night Belmont came out firing with an offense that recorded a .244 average. The team as a whole recorded nine blocks, with five of those being from Youngdahl. The Bruins took control from the beginning and closed out the match in three straight sets.
Belmont will return to action Tuesday Oct. 20 against Lipscomb University. There will be live stats as well as video feed on belmontbruins.com.
