Belmont-Pepperdine Game Preview

MALIBU, Calif. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Saturday at Pepperdine.

Belmont defeated Lipscomb, 64-62, Tuesday as sophomore Dylan Windler (Indianapolis, Ind.) scored the game-winning basket with 0.4 seconds remaining.

Belmont is very familiar with Pepperdine Director of Athletics Dr. Steve Potts. Dr. Potts held the same position at Lipscomb University from 2000 to 2008.

Belmont's Evan Bradds and Pepperdine's Chris Reyes are among the NCAA leaders in field goal percentage. Bradds, the two-time NCAA field goal percentage champion, scored 24 points on 10-for-13 shooting Tuesday.

Belmont's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2006 was in southern California. The Bruins faced UCLA at Viejas (formerly Cox) Arena in San Diego.

Jan van Breda Kolff, who coached Belmont assistant coach James Strong for three seasons at Vanderbilt ('00), coached at Pepperdine from 1999-2001.

Pepperdine senior guard Jonathan Allen is a native of Nashville, attending Ravenwood High School.

This marks the first meeting between Belmont and Pepperdine.
