NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Thursday vs. Cleveland State.
Belmont won at Milwaukee, 62-56, Monday. Junior Amanze Egekeze (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) had 14 points, a career-high 14 rebounds, and three blocked shots for the Bruins.
Belmont has two current players from the state of Ohio: senior Evan Bradds (Jamestown, Ohio) and junior Tyler Hadden (Cincinnati, Ohio). Recent Class of 2017 signee Nick Muszynski hails from Columbus, Ohio.
2013 Belmont graduate Adam Barnes was recently hired by the Cleveland Cavaliers as a budget analyst and scouting support manager. Barnes was part of three NCAA Tournament teams as a Bruin.
Belmont graduate assistant manager Matt Matoh is a native of Cleveland, Ohio.
This marks the second meeting between Belmont and Cleveland State. Last season, the Bruins got a career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds from junior Mack Mercer (Plymouth, Ind.).
In last year's game, Bradds played only 18 minutes and fouled out with four points on 1-for-5 shooting. In fact, it was only the second time as starters that both Bradds and fellow All-America candidate - 2016 graduate Craig Bradshaw - failed to score in double figures in the same game.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT from the Curb Event Center. The game will be broadcast on OVC Digital Network. The live play-by-play of Voice of the Bruins Kevin Ingram can be heard on the Bruin Sports Network. In-game updates will be available via Twitter @BelmontMBB.
NOTE: Special $1 tickets are available through the Curb Event Center Box Office (pre-sale ONLY; through Dec. 21). Day of/walk-up tickets will be at the Belmont group ticket rate.
