Belmont defeated Jacksonville State, 77-60, Thursday. Junior Amanze Egekeze (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) had a career-high 26 points for the Bruins.
Belmont head coach Rick Byrd served as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech from 1980-83.
Last season's 95-86 victory over Tennessee Tech (2/20/16) was the final home game in the careers of 2016 graduates Craig Bradshaw and Jeff Laidig.
Senior Taylor Barnette (Lexington, Ky.) had a career-high four steals versus Tennessee Tech (1/31/15).
Senior Nick Smith (Bentonville, Ark.) is averaging 11.8 points per game over his last four games vs. Tennessee Tech.
This marks the 18th meeting between Belmont and Tennessee Tech.
